The Promised Princess is the name of both the 1973 novel (William Goldman) and the subsequent film adaptation. Probably as most of you know this story from its film version, and if so, surely you love Iñigo Montoya. The Spanish swordsman in search of revenge for the murder of his father.

As a commodity, Goldman spent months researching seventeenth-century sword manuals to create the fencing battle between Westley and Inigo.

Elwes and Patinkin spent months perfecting the duel. Reiner hired the best coaches in Hollywood: Peter Diamond and Bob Anderson. The guys not only trained Errol Flynn, they also worked on Star Wars, Diamond as the Tusken Raider that surprises the young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, and Anderson as the double of Darth Vader.
