Curro was the official mascot of the Universal Exposition of Seville in 1992, known as Expo`92. Created by Heinz Edelmann, also author of the film The Yellow Submarine, he managed to convince against twenty-three other designs, among which were those of the Spanish Miguel Calatayud and Antonio Mingote.
